Liverpool Overhead Railway

The Liverpool Overhead Railway was demolished in 1956, shortly after it's closure. For this personal project I re-created the station that was situated at the 'Pier Head' using reference photo's from the internet, from books and from very limited grainy stock footage. I also built the structure itself, the carriages and the trams that where used at the time.

Although the Overhead Railway was around from 1893, much less reference material for it is available from it's early years. Over the course of time the landscape around it changed quite significantly, so I focused on how it looked more towards it's final years.

For the scene I have built the three graces of Liverpool and some of the other buildings that are still currently standing in the area, as well as those that where there during this time period that are now long gone.

Renders here have all been created using Mental Ray, and composited in After Effects.
